Process
Handcrafted in Los Angeles by a team of local designers. Our clay is sourced from local earth and our ceramics are made in small batches. We believe objects are tied to memories the same way spaces are linked to experiences and hope to bring that magical process of transformation and creation to the functional products for a home. All our glazes are inspired by the palette of earthly elements.

Product Care
Hand wash using a gentle dish soap. However OWIU Ceramic pieces can be placed in the dishwasher for the removal of stubborn stains on a mild / low heat setting. Be careful with using dishwashers – in general they have a tendency to be extremely harsh on handmade ceramics – water temperature, corrosive detergents and vibration (among other things) make this extremely treacherous territory.

Born from a tradition of collecting ceramic pieces during travel, the first collection in the MATTER series is pulled from a series landscapes, personally visited and photographed by OWIU. These photos then serve as reference material for the meticulous glaze testing process resulting in a collection of abstract and evocative color palettes reflecting the ephemeral and ever-changing colors in nature.
